On July 16th 2018 at San Diego Comic Con it was announced that a new Spider-Man game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch console exclusively.
This news came as a bit of a surprise since most of Marvel’s recent games have been multi platform releases with the exception of last year’s Spider-Man PS4 title which was a timed exclusive. It’s great to see that Nintendo are continuing to attract big third party developers and publishers to their console despite its relatively weak technical specifications in comparison to its competitors.
The first trailer for the game shown at Comic Con revealed that this will be an all new adventure featuring an original story which sees Spidey teaming up with Nick Fury to take down Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin who has his own gang armed with high tech weaponry.
From what we can see in the trailer this looks like it could be one of the best looking games on Switch yet thanks largely in part due to Insomniac Games’ experience with developing visually stunning titles such as Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet & Clank.
