Hbo Game of Thrones Prequel Cancelled

It was just announced that the HBO Game of Thrones prequel has been cancelled. This is after it had already been filmed and was set to air sometime in 2020. It’s a real shame because the prequel looked really promising.

It was set to take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, and would have followed the story of the first Targaryen king. Unfortunately, it seems like we’ll never get to see that story now.

HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series has been cancelled, just one day after it was announced. The news comes as a surprise to many fans who were looking forward to the new show. The prequel, which was set to star Naomi Watts, was going to be based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire and Blood.”

However, it seems that HBO has decided not to move forward with the project. It’s unclear why HBO made this decision, but it’s possible that they weren’t happy with the direction that the show was heading in. Additionally, Martin himself has said that he wasn’t involved in the development of the series, so it’s possible that HBO didn’t feel confident about moving forward without his input.

This is disappointing news for fans of Game of Thrones, but there is still some hope for another prequel series based on Martin’s work. We’ll have to wait and see what HBO decides to do next.

Game of Thrones Prequel Release Date

The much-anticipated prequel to the massively popular HBO series “Game of Thrones” finally has a release date. The new series, titled “House of the Dragon,” will debut on HBO in 2022. The series is set 300 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” and tells the story of House Targaryen, the family that ruled Westeros for many generations.

The show will be based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood.” HBO has already ordered 10 episodes for the first season of “House of the Dragon.” Miguel Sapochnik, who directed some of the best episodes of “Game of Thrones,” including “Battle of the Bastards” and “The Long Night,” will helm several episodes.

He will also serve as executive producer alongside Martin. Fans have been waiting patiently for any news about a possible “Game of Thrones” spinoff since the original series ended in 2019. There have been numerous reports and rumors about other potential projects, but this is the first one to receive an official announcement from HBO.

Given the success of “Game of Thrones,” it’s no surprise that they would want to capitalize on that with a new series set in that world. However, it remains to be seen if this prequel can live up to the hype surrounding it.

Why Did Hbo Cancel Game of Thrones Prequel?

As most fans of the Game of Thrones know, the series was adapted for television by HBO from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series. The show became a massive success for the network, spawning multiple seasons, prequels, and even a successful spin-off series. So it came as quite a shock when it was announced that HBO had canceled one of the planned GoT prequels.

There are many reasons why HBO may have decided to cancel the prequel. One reason could be that they were not happy with how the pilot turned out. Another possibility is that they realized that with all of the other projects in development, they did not have enough resources to devote to another Game of Thrones series at this time.

It’s also possible that they felt that there was simply no need for another show set in Westeros right now, especially with so many other shows (like Westworld) already filling that space on their schedule. Whatever the reason behind HBO’s decision, it’s clear that they are still fully committed to Game of Thrones and its world – even if we won’t be seeing any more new stories set in it for a while.

Is the House of Dragons Cancelled?

As of right now, the House of Dragons is not cancelled. However, there is no word on when or if it will return for a second season. The first season ended in June 2020 and was met with mixed reviews.

Some people loved it and thought it was a great addition to the Game of Thrones universe, while others felt that it was too slow-paced and lacked the excitement of the original series. Only time will tell if the House of Dragons will be back for more adventures.

Why Did Blood Moon Get Cancelled?

There are many reasons why the Blood Moon event was cancelled. The most likely reason is that there were simply too many variables that could not be controlled for. For example, the weather could have been cloudy and prevented people from seeing the moon.

Additionally, there could have been light pollution from nearby cities or other sources that made it difficult to see the blood moon. Another possibility is that the organizers underestimated how popular the event would be and did not plan accordingly. This could have led to overcrowding and safety concerns, which ultimately led to the decision to cancel the event.

Whatever the reason, cancelling Blood Moon was undoubtedly a disappointment for those who were looking forward to it. However, there are still plenty of opportunities to view stunning astronomical events – so don’t despair!

What Happened to Game of Thrones Prequel?

It’s been over a year since news first broke that HBO was developing not one, but four different Game of Thrones spinoffs. Of those four, only one has made it to pilot stage: the show now known as Bloodmoon. Here’s what we know about the Game of Thrones prequel so far.

The working title for the Game of Thrones prequel is Bloodmoon. It is set during The Long Night – which fans will know was a period of darkness and cold that lasted an entire generation, during which Westeros was invaded by White Walkers for the first time. The story will focus on “the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour”.

In other words, expect lots of drama, bloodshed and tragedy. The cast for Bloodmoon includes some big names: Naomi Watts (Twin Peaks) as “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret”, Josh Whitehouse (Poldark) as her husband, Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) as a “grande dame”, Marquis Rodriguez (Luke Cage) as “a brilliant young man who has travelled west to fight in Westeros’ wars”, Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd) as “a rogue sellsword” and Denise Gough (Colette) whose role is being kept under wraps for now. We don’t yet have a release date for Bloodmoon, but given that filming only wrapped up in November 2019 it’s unlikely that the show will air before 2021 at the earliest.

So far there’s been no word on whether or not HBO plans to go ahead with any of the other three proposed Game of Thrones spinoffs; it seems like they’re taking things one step at a time for now.

Game of Thrones Prequel Series: Cancelled – HBO's 35 Million Dollar Mistake! (Worse Than You Think)

Conclusion

It’s official: HBO has cancelled the Game of Thrones prequel. The news comes after it was revealed that the pilot for the series, which was set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, did not meet the network’s expectations. While it’s disappointing that we won’t get to see more of Westeros’ history, there’s still plenty to look forward to in the world of Game of Thrones.

The final season of the main series is set to air in 2019, and there are also spinoffs in development, including one focusing on House Targaryen.
