The final game of this series was everything you could ask for in a winner-take-all game. It featured great pitching (John Smoltz for Atlanta; Doug Drabek for Pittsburgh), great defense (Barry Bonds made a spectacular catch in left field), and plenty of drama (the Braves rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie it up in the bottom of the ninth inning).

2) 1979 NLCS Game 5: Pittsburgh Pirates vs Cincinnati Reds – This was simply an incredible pitching performance by future Hall of Famer Bruce Sutter, who came in relief and pitched 6 shutout innings to earn the win for the Pirates.
The game itself went 13 innings and was decided on a solo home run by Willie Stargell.
1) 1985 NLCS Game 6: Los Angeles Dodgers vs St. Louis Cardinals – Many people consider this to be not only one of best baseball games ever played, but also one of greatest sporting events period. It featured two comebacks from 3 runs down, as well as multiple lead changes throughout its 15 inning duration.
Finally won on another walk-off home run, this time coming offthe bat Jack Clark for Cardinals.
