It’s official! House of the Dragon, the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, will premiere on HBO in 2022. The news was announced today at WarnerMedia’s 2021 Investor Day presentation.
The series is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen, the dragon-riding family that ruled Westeros for centuries. It will be based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, which chronicles the history of House Targaryen.
